Stellenbosch Bergpad
A network of gravel trails and fire roads adjacent to the University of Stellenbosch sports fields. Its a great area to run and mountain bike on, as it lies at the foot of the Stellenbosch Mountain and so has various gradients, as well as some flat sections.
The Bergpad has a life of its own, with some walking socially, some jogging, some world champions ticking by, the Stellenbosch Horse Riding Club is on the one end, and to top this, mountain bikers share the same trails.
There is a small dam, in the centre of acreage, that some use for an cooling off on a hot summers day.
The area is now being patrolled for safety by security guards.
